Save Outdoor Sculptures! (SOS!)

The collection at the Helen Topping Architecture and Fine Arts Library contains an inventory of outdoor sculptures in the Los Angeles and neighboring counties in Southern California, prepared by SOS! volunteers. The files contain brief descriptions of the sculptures, their location and condition, municipality/owner, and historical information, where available. The inventory was conducted in the early-1990s (circa 1994-1995) and the files were donated to the USC Libraries by Julie Silliman in 2001. The Smithsonian Museum’s Art Inventories Catalog includes records for these files.

Bemis Fall Art Show

John Andro Avendaño @ Bemis

Bemis Arts
Presents the 2012 Fall Art Show.
October 27-28, 2012

Come Check out paintings by John Andro Avendaño! The Bemis Building’s Annual Fall Art Show features open artists’ studios and a juried exhibition in the hallways of guest artists from all over the state. For nearly a century, the towering letters of the Bemis Company sign have dominated the skyline just south of Pioneer Square, marking the edge of Seattle’s industrial district. With 30 artist live/work lofts, the building represents an extremely unusual industrial artifact. The Bemis Building is always a tough act to beat at 55 South Atlantic Street. This year’s show is a masquerade theme, costumes encouraged!
