“Boredom Revisited” » So during my stay so far in Aix, I get absolutely nothing out of it for days and days and days, but there’s this, too That boredom in a new country has at least the merit of allowing the spirit of the country to sink in unconsciously…its quite possible that on excursions like that, the things that strike me are ones that relate to images I already know. Images familiar from reading and photography. Whereas during a long stay, when I’ve time to get board, new things enter my head, things that I am not aware of at the time, but in due course they make up a whole new idea of the country.
